Life events

There are particular moments in all of our lives which will have a special significance for us: the celebration of a wedding; the christening of a child; or a funeral to mark and give thanks for a loved one’s life.

The Stroudwater Team would love to help and support you through these key times, or ‘Life Events’ as we call them. We have a wealth of experience guiding and supporting people through some of the happiest, and sometimes the most difficult, times in their lives.

Whether you’re celebrating something wonderful, or struggling with loss or disappointment, the Stroudwater Team would like to help. We’re here for you for every step of your life journey.

Weddings - you don't have to necessariy live in one of our parishes to have your wedding service in one of our beautiful churches, but you will need a qualifying connection (which you can make if you don't have one).  Do get in touch to find out  more.

Burials - our churchyards are beautiful and peaceful places, where over the centuries local people have been laid to rest.  If someone is resident in the parish at the time of their death, or they die whilst visitng the parish, they have a legal right to be buried in the churchyard. Otherwise we try to offer a pastoral and practical answer for requests from those who don't  live in the parish.  We are not permitted to scatter ashes in churchyards, but they can be interred with permission.  For more details do get in touch.

If you are looking to place a memorial in a churchyard please contact a local stonemason or the Team Rector about what is permitted - please don't pay for memorial before a formal application has been approved.
